What is a DMC, and do we need one for Italy?
A destination management company is the local specialist that designs a journey and then runs it on the ground: the houses, the guides, the drivers, the permissions, and the alternative when something moves. It is the part a buyer cannot hold from another country — and the part that decides whether a trip merely happens or is remembered.

Who organises corporate incentives and events in Italy?
We do — and have for over thirty years, from our Rome office. Work reaches us both directly from companies and through travel agencies, tour operators and incentive houses abroad, among them R. Crusoe & Son, Lakani World Tours, IADC, Dafing Group, First Incentive NL and Andrew Harper.
How do we get a proposal, and how long does it take?
Send the brief — where you are drawn, the occasion, the pace, roughly who is travelling — through the trip designer or to info@motivation.it. A first, itemized proposal comes back within 48 hours, with every line visible from the outset. One planner stays with you before, during and after the journey.

What does a journey with Motivation cost?
We publish no price list, because nothing here is packaged: every journey is costed line by line against your brief, and two versions of the same itinerary have never left this studio at the same figure.
What we can tell you is the standard that sets the floor. Private guides rather than shared ones. A driver who is yours for the day. Houses we have walked room by room. A planner reachable while you travel. That is not a budget proposition, and we would rather say so now than after a conversation that suits neither of us.
How far ahead should we book?
For a private journey, three to six months gives us the pick of the houses, the guides and the tables. For a group or an incentive programme, six to twelve.
Less is often still possible — a great deal of what we do is opening doors at short notice — but the earlier the brief arrives, the more of Italy is genuinely available rather than merely bookable.
Which parts of Italy do you cover?
The whole country. The journeys we are asked for most often begin in Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Lake Como, Tuscany, Puglia and Sicily — but the itinerary sketches published here are starting points, not packages, and nothing in them is fixed.
Do you work with travel agencies as well as private travellers?
Both. We work directly with families, couples and groups, and act as the Italian ground partner for agencies, tour operators and incentive houses abroad. Five specialist collections — Golf, Culinary, Yoga, Walking and 55+ — go deeper where a single passion sits at the centre of a trip.
